Large Adenium Obese Sculpture (Desert Rose / Impala Lily) – W24cm x H60cm

Looking for a bold, rare and visually stunning indoor plant? The Large Adenium Obese Sculpture – commonly known as the Desert Rose or Impala Lily – is a sculptural succulent with serious presence. These limited-availability specimens are hand-selected for their oversized swollen trunks and elegant, bonsai-like form.

Each plant has been grown slowly over time to create a distinctive shape. Some already have fresh leaves, while others are just starting to wake up from dormancy – a completely normal, seasonal process. With sun and warmth, they'll begin to grow and may even flower in summer.

Plant Size
• Pot diameter: 24cm
• Height: Approx. 60cm
• Each plant is unique – sizes and shapes may vary

Where Desert Rose Comes From
This plant is native to the arid regions of sub-Saharan Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. In its natural habitat, it thrives in rocky, sun-drenched landscapes and stores water in its thick caudex (swollen trunk) to survive drought. Known for slow, steady growth and striking form.

Desert Rose is Perfect as a Statement Indoor Plant
This large Adenium makes a beautiful statement plant in a living room, hallway, or sunny studio. Pair it with a wide ceramic planter or terracotta pot. It suits modern, minimalist, Japandi, or boho interiors and looks especially good when placed where it can be admired from all angles.

Adenium Obese Sculpture Care Guide
Light: Full sun – a south-facing window or conservatory is ideal
Water: Sparingly – allow the soil to dry completely between waterings
Soil: Cactus or succulent mix with excellent drainage
Temperature: Keep above 10°C – protect from draughts
Feeding: Monthly in spring/summer with our Organic Tropical Plant Food (vegan and gentle – perfect for succulents)

Are Desert Rose Indoor or Outdoor Plants?
This plant prefers life indoors year-round in the UK. However, during warm summer months (if night temps stay above 15°C), it can be moved outdoors – just keep it dry and bring it back inside before temperatures drop.

Why We Love Desert Rose!
• Sculptural and slow-growing – a true living artwork
• Hand-picked for its bonsai-like form

• May bloom in summer with the right care

Is Desert Rose Toxic?

Desert Rose FAQs
Why doesn't mine have leaves?
Some of these plants are just coming out of winter dormancy – leaf growth will begin again as they settle into warmer, brighter conditions.

Can Desert Rose flower indoors?
Yes, if given lots of light and kept warm, Adeniums may bloom in summer. Their flowers are typically pink, red, or white with a trumpet-like shape.

Does Desert Rose need pruning?
Not necessary, but light pruning in spring can encourage branching. It's best left to grow naturally if you enjoy its sculptural shape.
